Im Jahre 1970 wurde die erste internationale Grafikausstellung „Internationale Grafik + Illustration“ ausgerichtet. Der Katalog nennt schon hier 393 Werke von 92 Künstler*innen aus 28 Ländern. Bis 1980 wurden sechs Grafik-Biennalen veranstaltet, seit 1983 findet die „Deutsche Internationale Grafik-Triennale Frechen“ alle drei Jahre statt.

In 1970, the first international graphic exhibition „International Graphics + Illustration“ was organized. The catalogue already lists 393 works by 92 artists from 28 countries. Until 1980, six graphic biennials were organized, since 1983 the „German International Graphic Triennale Frechen“ takes place every three years.
